Social Networking Sites Social networking sites are the hippest "meet market" around, especially among tweens, teens, and 20-somethings. But while these sites can increase a person's circle of friends, they also can increase exposure to people with less-than-friendly intentions, including sexual predators. Learn how to help your kids socialize safely online. Spam Scams Most people agree: getting “spam” emails is annoying. But these unwanted commercial pitches also can be dangerous, with bogus offers and fraudulent promotions. Learn how to spot ten common spam scams and what to do (and not to do!) if you receive one in your email. Online Shopping Shopping online can be easy, fast, and convenient... but you should learn how to avoid being scammed by disreputable vendors or fraud artists. A few simple steps can go a long way to minimizing your chance of a mishap while making an online purchase.
